Meena Patel - Brain Trust

Meena Patel, member of Prayosha, born in India and now settled in the USA, is a professional and a homemaker. She currently works in the admissions office for an educational institute in Maryland, USA. Motto of life – “You make a living by what you get but you make a life by what you give”. – Winston Churchill

Ms. Patel’s first step towards philanthropy started with a DC based chapter of the NGO Pratham. While she enjoyed her short stint as a member of Pratham, there was a lack of contentment.

Watching an episode on “Female Feticide” on Indian talk show Satyamev Jayate, gave birth to Prayosha, She drew the inspiration from the show and along with her husband, conceptualized the idea of empowering women to support socially and economically disadvantaged girl-children in Mumbai India.

She is totally committed and has immersed herself in furthering the mission of Prayosha. She works relentlessly to create awareness and spreading the importance of women-empowerment, creating programs to educate parents on the importance of educating their daughters, raising funds to support the organization, and engaged in community outreach.
